The Organization
The FCSF is a nonprofit organization, legally constituted in 1994 through the ministerial agreement # 002908, whose members are born in their majority from the rural populations of Ecuador.
The Foundation is committed to the conservation of the environment of Ecuador, the sustainable development of the country and the defense of the environment and nature, for which has signed the Code of Ethics of the Ecuadorian Committee for the Defense of Nature and the Environment (CEDENMA).
The Foundation offers opportunities for volunteers to participate in community service activities, research of the flora and fauna of the region, and plant conservation.
The target area of the Foundation is the parish of San Francisco, pertaining to the canton of Muisne, province of Esmeraldas and extends approximately 150 squared kilometers. It comprises 16 precincts, being the parochial head of San Francisco del Cabo.
The population fluctuates between the 3500 inhabitants in a torrid climate region, with a tropical humid forest neighboring the Pacific Ocean, whose topography oscillates between zero and ninety meters in altitude.
