The FCSF has opened its doors to volunteers from all over the world that have similar views regarding the humanitarian aspirations and harmonious development with nature in the South American region on the northern coast of the Pacific Ocean in the Cape of San Francisco.
During this final period, volunteers that have submitted their work and their quota for this ideal and social practice have produced a body of research about the reality of the zone in demographical, sociological, educational and biological fields. The specific results of that work are of great significance for the population who should have, for its own knowledge, detailed information about their environment, its possibilities and its resources.
From Switzerland, the United States of America, Germany, France and from the urban regions of the country, the volunteers that have worked in the Cape of San Francisco, have contributed, without compensation, loyally to the principles that FCSF maintains. These volunteers have adhered faithfully to the values of solidarity, to villages that endure poverty and abandonment, with their experience and capacity to achieve the exchange of cultural goods. The result of this exchange is a mutual enrichment of knowledge and the construction of an unyielding nexus between the habitants of the planet.
The passage of time will shape, in the future, the positive actions completed by volunteers, like Martina S. Child, whose participation in the meticulous social study of the infant population significantly contributed to provide a new vision of the problems that affect the children of the region and try to solve them. Or the research, completed by Brandon Whitney, in the field of ethnobotany, whose outline, a result of the collection of plants, has managed to accumulate facts of phytotherapeutic utility regarding the plant life of the zone. The intent of this research is to relieve the health needs and well being of the people, using the premium native material of the location.
The excellent work, this year, of our “online” volunteer coordinator, Marisol Martini, stands out in the same way. She has managed to produce translations of texts for the website to different languages (Spanish, French, German and English), with the purpose of sharing with the media and the public, in a more profound way, the work of the FCSF.
We unite at the IVD celebration on December 5th.
